Five Injured in Car Accident

Car crash - broken glassFive people were injured in an accident that took place on January 3, on the Interstate 10 in Fontana. The California Highway Patrol reported while all five people were transported to local hospitals, only some suffered with major injuries despite the severity of the crash.

According to reports, a woman from San Bernardino was driving a Nissan Sentra just before 1 p.m. She was exiting eastbound when her car hit the raised curve on the off-ramp. Due to the angle of the collision and the rate of speed at which the car was traveling, the vehicle went airborne. The car flipped in the air and landed roof-on-roof on a Honda Pilot.

After the Nissan hit the Honda, it landed on the on ramp and burst into flames. There were two children in the Nissan and a passenger in the Honda. All, including both drivers, were treated for injuries at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. Both the intersection and the off-ramp were closed for nearly three hours as officers conducted their investigation into the accident.
