Negligence Lawsuit Filed in FedEx Crash

It is not greed to file a suit for legal compensation. It’s a pursuit of justice. Why should the victim of someone else’s carelessness or negligence have to pay for his or her own recovery? Someone who’s already suffered physical injury and perhaps loss of property should never have to face financial ruin as well.

A student has filed a negligence lawsuit after the charter bus he was taking to Humboldt State University was struck by a FedEx truck in Glenn County.

The student was a senior at Pacifica High School in Garden Grove at the time of the accident. he filed his suit in Los Angeles Superior Court against both FedEx and the charter bus operation company that was in charge of conveying him to the university.

There were dozens of students on the charter bus, going to Humboldt State to take a tour of the campus.

The bus was traveling on Interstate 5 when a FedEx truck traveling in the other direction veered out of its lane and struck the charter bus head-on. Ten people were killed in the fiery crash, including five students and five adults.

The student pressing the lawsuit claims he was thrown around the inside of the bus, then trapped inside while it was on fire. Media sources say he may have managed to escape through a window after freeing himself from the wreckage. His injuries include a broken elbow and smoke inhalation.

FedEx issued a statement of condolence to the victims and their families, while pledging support to everyone affected. The company also promised to cooperate with the authorities in their investigation.
