Teen Killed by School District Vehicle

images (24)A teen has been killed while riding her bicycle after being struck by a school district vehicle.

According to authorities, on Monday just before 8:00 a.m., were called to the scene of an accident involving a bicycle in the 2100 block of West Edinger near Center, across from the Carr Intermediate School.

Police arrived and pronounced a 14-year-old girl dead at the scene. The teen’s mother was called and responded to the scene of the accident.

Investigators say the girl was riding her bicycle in the crosswalk when the driver of a Santa Ana Unified School district vehicle struck and killed her.

The driver of the school district truck was not injured in the accident.
