Accident in Santa Monica Tunnel
Traffic on the westbound 10 Freeway was brought to a standstill after an accident in Santa Monica.
According to Santa Monica police Sgt. Shawn Tooney, the accident occurred when a car crashed into the tunnel that connects the westbound 10 Freeway to Pacific Coast Highway in Santa Monica at 9:40 p.m. Two people were injured in the crash.
Tooney said that the two people in the car were taken to an area hospital to be checked for injuries. Drunken driving does not appear to have been a factor in the crash.
